Impact of Organizational Environment, Managerial Competence, Work Commitment, and Cooperation Culture on School Principal Effectiveness

Abstract:

The objective of this research is to study the effect of organizational environment, managerial competence, work commitment, and teamwork culture on the principal’s managerial effectiveness at Junior High School in Tangerang City. This research used the quantitative approach with a survey method. The samples of this research were 102 principals selected randomly. The data were obtained by distributing a questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive statistics and path analysis. The results of the research can be concluded that (1) organizational environment, managerial competence, work commitment, and teamwork culture had a direct effect on principal’s managerial effectiveness, (2) organizational environment, managerial competence, and work commitment had a direct effect on teamwork culture, and (3) organizational environment and managerial competence had a direct effect on principal’s work commitment. Therefore, the organizational environment, managerial competence, work commitment, and teamwork culture should improve the principal's effectiveness.
