A learning environment must be a physically and psychologically safe and conducive space for learning. This descriptive study assessed the learning environment of senior high schools as perceived by 191 randomly selected Grade 11 teachers in Antique, Philippines. Data were gathered using a validated, reliability-tested, researcher-made questionnaire checklist based on the Learning Environment Questionnaire. Descriptive statistics used were frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation, while t-test for Independent Samples, One-way ANOVA, and LSD were used as inferential statistics. Data analysis was done using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) software, version 22.0. The findings showed that, overall and when categorized by appointment status, length of teaching experience, and sex, teachers perceived the learning environment as very conducive in terms of psycho-social, physical, and socio-cultural aspects. For psycho-social, physical, and socio-cultural aspects, Grade 11 teachers did not differ significantly in their perceptions of the learning environment when grouped by length of teaching experience and sex; however, a significant difference emerged when respondents were grouped by appointment status. The study concluded that Grade 11 teachers had a very conducive learning environment, with appointment status as a factor affecting schools' learning environments. The study recommended that government institutions, such as NEAP and DepEd, develop trainings, seminars and conferences to enrich public school teachers' knowledge and experience in maintaining a child-friendly and conducive learning environment in schools.
